    Spicy Ranch Dressing and Dip

    Jump to Recipe

Spicy Ranch Dressing and Dip is easy and delicious! You probably have everything on hand to make it right now. It also makes a great dip for your favorite vegetables.

jar of ranch dressing on a white plate with spoon beside. Salad on the side

    Ingredients

    • mayonnaise
    • plain yogurt, preferably full-fat
    • dried chives
    • dried parsley
    • dried dill
    • garlic powder
    • onion powder
    • cayenne pepper or hot paprika
    • white wine vinegar
    • salt and pepper
bowl with all the ingredients for spicy ranch dressing

    Instructions

Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl. Add water or buttermilk to thin, if necessary, to reach desired consistency.

    How to store it

This dressing will keep in the fridge, covered, until the expiry date on your yogurt. Place a piece of tape on your jar or container with the date in case you finish the yogurt first.

jar of ranch dressing on a white plate with spoon beside. Salad on the side.

    Substitutions

Yogurt - Buttermilk or sour cream can be used instead of yogurt. Buttermilk will create a thinner consistency.

Mayonnaise - You can omit the mayo and replace it with the same amount of yogurt. A vegan mayo can also be used.

White wine vinegar - Apple cider, rice, or white vinegar would be the best substitutes.

Dried herbs - Use fresh herbs in place of dried. You will need to double the amounts.

Cayenne pepper or hot paprika - Omit if you don't like it spicy.

Hi Andrea, I am in love with this dressing. I swear I eat it every day. I was wondering if you had a lime and mayo with cilantro dressing coming down the pipe. PS I love the new squeezer you suggested as well as the zester.

I made this yesterday and since I love spicy, I increased the cayenne by a lot and I used 1 tsp. Of the herbs and I absolutely love this. It is so dam good. Try a dollop of it on the bean salad. Out of this world.

It is hard not to just eat this stuff by the spoonful--it is that good! I am imagining it on a big salad with fried chicken tenders; however, I just finished using the dressing as a dip with cucumber slices--so, so good and so easy to make since it uses dried herbs.

I really like this ranch dressing and have made it several times. It is so easy to make and is delicious. I have made it both ways, with cayenne and with paprika. I will never go back to store bought ranch dressing!
      Thanks Andrea!
